Rabbi Jason Fruithandler
Rabbi Fruithandler is excited to have taken over the post as Rabbi of Woodbury Jewish Center. He found his passion for Judaism as a teen in USY in Westchester, New York. His excitement led him to the Jewish Theological Seminary and Columbia University for a B.A. in Talmud and Sociology respectively. In Rabbinical School, Rabbi Fruithandler was privileged to work with a wide range of Conservative synagogues.
For the past seven years, Rabbi Fruithandler has served as the associate rabbi of Sinai Temple in Los Angeles. While there, he led the religious school, teen center and young professional communities to an era of growth and vitality. At Sinai, Rabbi Fruithandler was known for his kind demeanor, his open acceptance of all people and for raising the energy level of the congregation.
Rabbi Fruithandler feels it his role as a rabbi to be a bridge between the unique circumstances of each community member's life and the depth of wisdom and meaning our tradition has to offer. He hopes to get to know each and every member of Woodbury Jewish Center and support them as they navigate their Jewish and Secular journeys.
Rabbi Fruithandler has been happily married to Jessie since 2006 and is immensely proud of his two children, Liba and Micah. When he can squeeze in a few moments between being a rabbi, husband and father, you are likely to find him at the movies.
